Today, we meet on the blog to talk about problems, but especially natural solutions for those (and those) of you who have oily and/or acne skin. Why do I say and/or because we can have oily skin without pimples, and conversely, have pimples without having oily skin? But in the vast majority of cases, the two go hand in hand. If you are a special case, do not hesitate to ask us your questions in the comments.

There are hundreds of conventional products (I mean by conventional, not natural at all) on the market that boast results, each one more incredible than the last for this type of skin. But yet, as with every type of skin and every skin problem, it is better to turn to natural products to see real results and especially in the long term.

We will therefore take stock together on the characteristics of oily and/or acne-prone skin, learn to recognize it, and above all, we will present you the products most suited to this type of skin with two routines: a complete routine and a routine. More minimalist for those (and those) who are in a hurry.

We will also talk about tips, recipes, and recommendations to improve the condition of your skin and especially not to make it worse. Speaking of the worst, we will also dismantle certain received ideas that we can have on oily and/or acne-prone skin.

Go! Let’s go! Let’s start by making a diagnosis on all of this! Don’t forget to use the best neem soap to get rid of pimples.

RECOGNIZE OILY AND / OR ACNEIC SKIN

Oily skin all over your face, that shines, with large pores, blackheads, and even pimples? The foundation that does not hold, need to absorb excess sebum with a tissue during the day? It’s official, you have oily skin!

So far nothing new in the tropics, you will tell me, but we will try to understand why your skin is like this.

CAUTION IMPORTANT REMINDER: If you have these symptoms on your nose, forehead, and chin (T zone) but the rest of your face, your skin is rather “normal” (that is, you do not have cheeks that shine for example), is that you most certainly have combination skin (like 70% of French women). So, you don’t have oily skin! Your face care routine will be different.

WHY DO YOU HAVE OILY SKIN AND / OR ACNE?

Oily skin is caused by too much sebum secretion. At the origin of this excess sebum, we can find:

1 / Hormones: it is not for nothing that oily and/or acne-prone skin particularly affects adolescents (period of madness for hormones!) And people subject to hormonal changes (early pregnancy, menopause, discontinuation of contraception, hormonal diseases for example).

2 / A diet that is not really “Healthy”: high consumption of sugars and fat can also be the cause of oily and/or acne skin. Do you have shiny skin and pimples that appear in winter when you do a series of raclettes and other Savoyard fondues with your friends? Your skin kindly reminds you that fruits and vegetables are good too;)

3 / The use of conventional cosmetics, chemicals, synthetics, based on petrochemical derivatives, silicones, etc. can also be the source of these problems. Very often, these products clog the pores of the skin and suddenly, your skin becomes dehydrated and dehydrated. And since nature is well done, your skin will try to regulate this by producing more sebum, which can have the completely opposite effect, and therefore TOO MUCH sebum.

4 / Failure to take proper care of your skin: forgetting to remove your makeup in the evening, not listening to and understanding your skin’s needs, not using products suited to your skin type, taking care of your skin once in a while, excruciating excessively, stripping your skin with too aggressive cotton, wipes or sponges … so many factors that can cause these skin reactions and/or worsen them.

Misconception to forget: use regular scrubs when you have oily skin> FALSE! Oily and/or acne-prone skin is weakened and very often irritated skin. So, we avoid attacking him even more with scrubs.

But be careful, don’t panic! Because you may be telling yourself that having oily skin is inevitable because you will never be able to change all that! But in reality, there are natural products and ingredients that will help you improve the condition of your skin so that you can live in harmony with it.

IMPORTANT REMINDER OF SKIN NEEDS:

Your skin, regardless of its type, is protected by a protective barrier called a hydrolipidic film. This hydrolipidic film is composed of water (sweat) and oil (sebum) secreted from the skin. When applying a cosmetic, it is on this hydrolipidic film that we will act.
